(ENGLISH) The Municipality of Utuado was founded in 1739 in the Western-Central part of the island. Utuado is the site of the Caguana Indigenous Ceremonial Park, one of the most important "taíno" sites in the #puertorico. It is estimated that has more than 700 years old. Discovered in the early 20th Century, this national park is one of the most important #archeological sites in the #caribbean. The park consists of 12 "bateyes" (ceremonial or sports fields similar to lacrosse or soccer) surrounded by a variety of stone with #petroglyphs. It has a Visitor's Center and a Museum that collects different types of "taíno" indian artifacts that were collected there. It was a beautiful experience that you can have by yourself. (ESPAÑOL) El Municipio de Utuado fue fundado en 1739 en la parte centro-occidental de la isla. Utuado es el sitio del Parque Ceremonial Indígena Caguana, uno de los sitios taínos más importantes del #puertorico. Se estima que tiene más de 700 años de antigüedad. Descubierto a principios del siglo 20, este parque nacional es uno de los sitios de #arqueología más importantes de la #caribe. El parque consta de 12 "bateyes" (campos ceremoniales o deportivos similares al lacrosse o al fútbol) rodeados de una variedad de piedras con #petroglifos. Cuenta con un Centro de Visitantes y un Museo que recoge diferentes tipos de artefactos indígenas "taínos" que allí fueron recolectados. Fue una experiencia hermosa que puede tenela por usted mismo.
